About JOHN CHAO PHOTOGRAPHY

JOHN is a nature, travel & environmental photographer living in the Seattle, Washington area*.

In 1991 he left the congestion of Manhattan and East Coast. Since then his photography displays the natural & scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest and West. His energies are devoted to the National Parks, travel scenics, mountain aerials, winter views, wilderness areas and photojournalism for environmental causes.

His work has been awarded recognition in juried exhibitions, published in books (including "Best of the Northwest"), guidemaps, magazines, notecards, postcards, calendars and included in the permanent collections at Mount Rainier National Park and Olympic National Park; imagery is used in their Interpretive Displays, Websites, Powerpoints, Media Releases and for historical archives. He is a volunteer photographer for the National Park Service, Washington, D.C. Headquarters (WASO).  John is also available for assignment photography work.

He is creator, editor & co-photographer of 2 "Mount Rainier National Park PhotoRovers" guidemaps, the "Seattle PhotoGuideMap", organizes and curates photography exhibitions* and conducts nature photography workshops.

He co-organized and presented work in a photography exhibition: "The National Parks in Washington State", at the WA State Convention & Trade Center in Seattle, 10/23/2010 to 1/13/2011.
