About JOHN CHAO PHOTOGRAPHY
JOHN is a nature, travel & environmental photographer living in the Seattle, Washington area.
In 1991 he left the rancorous congestion of Manhattan & East Coast. Ever since, his photography displays Creation's expansive natural beauty in the Pacific Northwest & West. His energies are devoted to National Parks, travel scenics, mountain aerials, winter views, wilderness areas & environmental photojournalism.
His work has been awarded recognition in exhibitions, published in books (including "Best of the Northwest"), guidemaps, magazines, (Audubon, National Geographic publications, Outdoor Photographer, etc.), newspapers, notecards, postcards, calendars & used by many Pacific-West Region National Parks in Interpretive Displays, Social Media, Websites, Powerpoints, Media Releases & for historical archives. John is a Volunteer Photographer for the National Park Service's Office of Communications, Washington's National Park Fund (www.wnpf.org), & has been an Advisory Board Member for the Photography Program at Bellevue College, Bellevue, WA.
He is creator, editor & co-photographer of 2 "Mount Rainier National Park PhotoRovers" guidemaps, the "Seattle PhotoGuideMap", & organized & curated photography exhibitions.*
